Me and my partner spent a night at Balmoral Arms recently after visiting Balmoral Castle. The location couldn't be better. Just a quick drive from the castle and right in the heart of Ballater. The staff were so warm and welcoming, really made us feel at home. We received a free upgrade to the Balmoral suite, and I was impressed by how clean and spacious the room was. The views from our window, especially with the Christmas lights, added a lovely touch. Breakfast included in our stay was absolutely delicious and very filling. Only downside? The hot water took a bit to come through when we were showering. I can't fault this hotel and can't recommend it enough if you're considering a stay in this area.

Lovely Scottish Breakfast

Just a reliable pick for a couple of nights in Ballater with value for money. The Sunday Roast I had was excellent, just wish the wine prices matched. Check the drink menu before ordering to avoid surprises.

The charming atmosphere and responsive staff made the stay enjoyable, although the room showed signs of wear, and breakfast service was a bit slow. Dining was a highlight with delicious food, yet the facilities need a little more attention.

the location of balmoral arms hotel is simply stunning, really nice with a beautiful decor that keeps the historic vibe. everything was super clean and tidy even tho dogs are allowed. food was nice overall, very sorry to say that but the chef deserves compliments.

Sadly, no parking on-site which may be tricky in peak season. also the breakfast wasn't really great, felt a bit underwhelming with slow service.

the location was realy good with a large free carpark just across the road. staff were friendly and our room was large, clean and comfy with a nice bathroom. loved the supply of teas n snacks in the room too! breakfast was good too and the vibe in the lounge area was nice for chillin after a long day.

however, the wine prices were ridiculuous! also, our shower didn't work properly, which was really annoying.

Great location, but needs improving!

We stayed for 2 nights and the bed was super comfy! The location is fab with a large parking lot. Coffee and snacks in the room were nice too. But seriously, the service was a letdown, super slow at breakfast. Had to cancel our second one. Just felt like some parts could use a revamp.

Great time with friends! We enjoyed exploring a Scottish whisky distillery and hiking the nearby trails. The communal spaces were inviting. keep in mind that the food presentation could be improved, and service was sometimes slow.

The location was perfect for visiting the breathtaking Cairngorms and enjoying some local hikes. I found the breakfast service to be a bit slow and it would be great to see a more varied menu throughout our stay.
